At Sugar Co Beauty Bar, we practice the ancient art of hair removal by way of a purely natural paste made simply from sugar and lemon. Unlike other hair removal techniques, sugar paste will not burn, tear or otherwise damage skin, so it is safe for all skin types. Skin is completely exfoliated and begging to be touched!

Sugaring is often compared to waxing, but it is similar only in that they both remove unwanted hair. Sugaring removes hair in the direction of its growth, so you will experience far less broken and ingrown hair. In addition, sugar is applied at room temperature or only slightly warmer, and will not adhere to live skin cells so there is no risk of burning or tearing. All you will be left with is beautifully exfoliated, smooth, soft skin.

With sugaring, your hair will grow back thinner and many clients report a noticeable reduction in the overall hair growth. When you choose body sugaring as your hair removal method, your first three appointments are the most important. You will want to book your first three sugaring sessions fairly close together if you are planning to use sugaring to soften hair and reduce hair growth.

Many clients find that sugaring is less painful and, in most cases, leads to permanency.

If you are using Accutane, Retin-A, Differin, Tri-luma or Tazorac If you are using Retin-A or any other topical cream for acne on your face, it is unsafe to have your face sugared. All other body parts are fine. If you are using Accutane or have used Accutane in the past 6 months, we cannot safely treat any area of your body.

If you have always used a razor prior to your sugaring treatment, the first appointment will be the most uncomfortable. The hair has been “trimmed” over and over with a razor, allowing the root to mature. When this larger root is pulled, it is more difficult to remove from the follicle. The good news is that regularly scheduled appointments will keep the hair removed often, so the root will not have a chance to mature. After your very first treatment, you will notice the hair that grows back will be softer and finer. After a few months of sugaring, you will notice spots where no hair growth is present. It is here that you will witness the beginning stages of permanency through sugaring.
